The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) at St Laurences CE Primary School is a group of volunteer parents and teachers who work together to make our school a better environment for our children to learn and thrive in.

We have a PTA Committee which consists of –

Chair – Mrs Guest (Teacher)

Treasurer – Mrs Scott (Parent Governor)

Secretary – Mrs Gower (Parent Governor)

We meet on a regular basis with a small group of volunteers - meeting as necessary when we are planning events.  As well as being an opportunity to find out what we are planning, share ideas and get involved.

We raise funds through a wide range of fun and creative initiatives and events in an attempt to enrich each child’s school experience. A selection of the regular events we host include (but are not limited to) Discos, ‘crazy hair’ day, ‘break the rules’ day, Easter card and garden competition and Stories with Santa.

Most commonly our PTA funds are spent on –

• Educational materials (books, classroom equipment, sports equipment)
• School trips
• Playground equipment
• School renovation projects

Our PTA wants to positively impact the education experience for children by developing effective relationships between school, parents and the wider community. The impact of the pandemic on our children was significant and we feel that there has never been a more urgent time for parents and schools to come together for the benefit of their children and their education.
